OUR
MINISTRIES

The Lighthouse offers various ministries for those in all walks of life. The goal of all of our ministries is to equip the members of our church to know the Bible better, create deeper fellowship within our congregation, and raise up leaders in the context of the local church. If you are looking to get involved or have any questions about any of our ministries, please email us at info@thelighthouseabc.com or call us at 302-947-9543.

Sunday School

Every Sunday at 9:15 the Lighthouse offers a variety of Sunday School classes for those who are interested. The core of our Sunday School curriculum are our Discipleship classes. These classes are discussion based and intentionally kept to a smaller class size so that everyone is able to participate. These classes have handouts that are given out each week so that everyone can be prepared for the discussion and come ready to engage. In addition, we offer more traditional teaching based Sunday School classes, as well as classes and childcare for children from nursery through the 5th grade.

Children's Ministry

The Lighthouse Children’s Ministry is dedicated to training and equipping the next generation in God’s Word. During the Sunday School hour, children practice memorizing passages of Scripture and also learn about the importance of missions as we share about local and foreign missionaries supported by our church. During the main church hour, children learn stories from all over the Bible. Every lesson incorporates the Gospel and points to the grand narrative of scripture which is taught through the reading of God’s Word, song, video, engaging work sheets, and corresponding crafts, activities and games. We believe the Gospel is for everyone, even the babies in our nursery will hear the Gospel spoken, biblical songs sung, and Scripture read. Our hope is that every child who enters our doors would feel loved as an individual, but more importantly come to know the love of our Savior through a personal relationship with Him.

Youth Ministry

The Lighthouse Youth Group is open to all middle and high school students. We gather together every Sunday afternoon from 12:30 - 1:30 for a time of fun as well as serious study of the Bible.

Our aim is to provide teenagers with a solid Christian worldview as they grow into mature followers of Christ. We pray that through fun activities and games each week that they form friendships with other Christians their own age who can help and encourage them in their walk with the Lord.

Young Adults Ministry

The Lighthouse Young Adult Ministry is a ministry of fellowship for those 18 to 35 years old. We plan fun and engaging outings every two months for the purpose of getting to know one another better and having some time to relax and unwind. Our hope for the young adult ministry is that those involved will form deep and meaningful friendships with one another in an age where many young adults are wrestling with loneliness.

To find out when our next outing is, please email info@thelighthouseabc.com for more information.

Women's Ministry

The Lighthouse Women’s Ministry is for ladies of all ages and stages of life with the purpose of growing in Godliness and creating a community united in Christ. We meet for fellowship, prayer, and to study God’s Word. Our time of fellowship is marked by encouraging one another’s relationship with Jesus and cultivating lasting friendships.

We promote individual devotions, gather for discussion in small groups, and come together for corporate Bible study; all in hopes of inspiring a love for God’s Word. We pray to see the women’s ministry result in discipleship, biblically literate leaders, and personal growth.

The Women's Ministry meets on the second Saturday of the month from 8am-10am, February-May and September-December.

GriefShare

Grief Share is a 13 week seminar and support group program designed to provide help and encouragement to individuals after the death of a loved one and to assist them in walking through this difficult time.

A Grief Share support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief.  Through this program, participants will discover what to expect in the days ahead and how to navigate their personal grief process.  Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, participants will learn ways of coping with grief and gain solid support each step of the way.

Men's Ministry

The Lighthouse Men’s Ministry aims to see lives changed by the gospel through encouraging and equipping men to grow into mature disciples and disciple-makers in the context of the local church. We do this through regular and occasional gatherings for men centered around Scripture, prayer, and gospel-centered discussion.

This is all done in the hopes that we inspire men to live out biblical manhood in their callings as followers of Christ, husbands, fathers, workers, friends, neighbors, and church members.

The Men's Ministry meets on the third Saturday of the month from 8am-10am, February-May and September-December.
